Strawberry Pie

I hope everyone out there in blogland had a safe, happy, and patriotic Memorial Day celebration this past weekend. I know I did! The first part of the weekend was spent with a very good friend of mine from college, Cassie! She lives on a lake in my dream town and I was so glad to spend some chill-out time with her. During our reunion, we explored her town, checking out a neat little bookstore an a local farm market. Cassie ended up with 8 pints of fresh, local grown strawberries. DELICIOUS strawberries! So we made a strawberry pie. It was so yummy and just plain nice to look at. I will have to make something similar from clay, why not?

Enough babbling from me... Enjoy your Thursday!

Happy Friday!

Hello, Hello!

This week was a bit quiet on the crafting front - but I do have my guest post posted at ChristyNelson.net. It was even featured at OnePrettyThing.com, one of my all-time-favorite DIY sites!

I've been working a lot of hours between my two RL jobs, so crafting is at a minimum. Take a peak at what I'm doing tonight...

Me in 19th century attire at the County Fair teaching in my mock-school house. Perdy sweet, I think!

And what I did a few weekends ago...

After a 2 1/2 mile hike, Bobby and I made it to the top of the mountain in PA. We may be a sweaty mess, but it was a good trip!

Now, for a little #FollowFriday for all you Twitter Junkies!

And there you have it! Enjoy the weekend, my dears. I'm off to the County Fair and then to S. Jersey for a birthday party!

Busy Beeeeeee

This week was fun, but busy. I'm about to go on a mini-vacation with my boyfriend's family. We'll be camping in Blue Rocks, PA, so I'm excited! I've heard the place is beautiful. I'll be sure to post a few photos when I get back.

I received a custom order from a Twitter pal for a purple coffee cozy. I like this print, I think I'll do more with it! For some reason I don't have much purple in my stash AT.ALL. Anyone know some good prints to fix that problem?

Also, I just finished writing up a tutorial on how to make a polymer clay strawberry charm. It's for a guest-blogger post at ChristyNelson.net for later this month. Keep an eye out!

I'm off... Gotta get my bag packed for the camping trip! Enjoy the weekend, Crafters.

RA Training: Day Five

Today was the longest day of training - 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Yikes! I took a tiny nap after dinner, but I was more tired after that than I was before. Today was filled with policy, confrontation skills, and Behind Closed Doors. BCD is where newly hired RAs are faced with the task of confronting returning RAs who are acting out different scenarios in the residence halls. My first year as a returner, I was in a messy roommate scenario. Last year, I was in a situation where we had just snuck someone into our room through the fire door (which isn't supposed to be used except for emergencies), and this year I was in a situation where there is an abusive relationship. I was paired with a newer RA who is only in his second year, Pat. He's a nice guy so at first I wasn't sure how he would do at being the aggressor, but he did great!! And he's about 6'4'' compared to my 5'1'' and that just made for fun times! The funny thing is that my real boyfriend was an RA with me up until this past May, so he and I probably would have had a blast doing this! Haha!

Anyways, Guess who finally found her glasses!!! After not having them for about a month, I finally pulled them out of a bag that was filled with cords and cables for my desktop. How they got there, I don't know. All there is to know is that now the roads are safer because I'm not driving blind anymore. And yes, that picture is of me right now. Excuse the yucky hair, it's hot.

A bit of claying the other night, as I had mentioned yesterday. I've been playing with scenting  my clay, and so far, so good. I only have strawberry scenting oil, so I'm a bit limited at the moment. Good thing I love strawberries! I made a few larger ones as well as a bunch of TEEENY TINY ones to decorate a cheesecake charm I am making for a friend. I really like how they turned out.

Strawberry Matchbox Swap

Woo! I'm hosting my first Swap at Swap-Bot! I am pretty excited and I hope it goes over well!

I collect Strawberry items, you see, so I have been on the look-out for Strawberry themed swaps. There was one recently, but it wasn't welcoming Newbies (which I still kinda am). SoooOOoo, I decided to create my own swap to satisfy my Strawberry craving!

Check it out!
