I plan on keeping the Clutchlet Giveaway open until Tuesday, Feb. 10 - so don't forget to enter!! There are only a few entries in so far, so your chances are still pretty good!
I love Sew, Mama, Sew and they are having a FABULOUS theme this month based on every sewista's favorite bit of fabric - The Fat Quarter! Check SMS's blog each day for tutorials, tips, and talks about the infamous FQ! Here's a little survey that was posted today -
What do you usually sew?
I love to create bags, purses, and accessories.
When you shop for fabric, what size cuts do you usually buy?
I am, of course, a fan of the FQ and will usually get that amount. I also love snatching up remnants to diversify my stash.
Do you buy on impulse or do you go out looking for something you need?
A little of both. I usually am an impulse buyer, though.
Are you a pre-washer?
Nope. I don't want to lose yardage just yet.
Do you iron it?
Obsessively! My iron is on almost as much as my sewing machine is.
How do you sort it?
By color. I seem to have a lot of greens and pinks.
Do you have any special folding techniques?
Not really. I once took on the task of wrapping them around my own home-made bolts, but I gave up on that.
How do you store your fabric?
I have a Sterilite (sp?) drawer thinger that I keep all my crafts in. Fabric has its own drawer, as does beading and clay. I think fabric may need its own container very soon.
What tips do you have for building up a well-rounded stash?
I don't know... I could use your tips! I'm still building mine.
When do you say enough is enough?
Your guess is as good as mine.
What are some of your favorite stash-busting projects?
I make goodies for my niece and my girlfriends. Key fobs, wristlets, tote bags, etc. My Mom is usually a willing recipient of my random creations.
Do you have a current favorite print in your stash? Let’s see it!
I'll get back to you on that one!
What’s your definition of the perfect stash?(Consider sharing a picture or two of your stash & storage, or direct us to a pic on Flickr!)
Another one I'll BRB with!
